We're back in New Bern after a whirlwind weekend softball tourney. Unfortunately, The Lady Falcons lost all 3 games, but they went down fighting. Abbie came home with a couple of battle scars. She was pegged with a pitch on her shin. She'll have a huge bruise, but will be fine. As a mom, hearing that crack of the ball on her leg was almost enough for me to loose it.
Four hours at the ballpark, 85 degree weather, 2 cans of sunblock, 2 bottles of bubbles, a Frisbee, an endless amount of candy and Gatorade, a sandy playground, 2 port-a-potties and no running water. Need I say more?...I had to scrub my bathtub after the kids had their baths to remove the dirt ring left behind.
Summer is almost here...let the fun begin!
